[Tyndale IT] - Multifactor Authentication (MFA) Administrator AdministratorShow MyInfo popup for Administrator Administrator 6/3/2026 10:29:08 AM

Dear Tyndale Students,

As part of our continued focus on security, we’d like to announce the introduction of multi-factor authentication (MFA) for Tyndale student accounts.

Here are some common questions surrounding MFA:

What is MFA and is it Mandatory?

Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) provides a second level of protection or your student account, above and beyond your student password. MFA combines something you know (e.g., your password) with something you have (e.g., your mobile phone) to provide access to your account. Enrolling your account into MFA has been shown to make your account much more resilient to unauthorized 3rd party access.

Effective September 2026, MFA will become mandatory on all MyTyndale student accounts. We do encourage you to register and enroll now into MFA to ensure a smooth transition for the new semester.

What MFA methods are supported?

Currently, our recommended MFA method is by using the Microsoft Authenticator app. We also strongly recommend adding a secondary authentication method, such as your SMS mobile number, as a backup means of accessing your account.

How do I set MFA up?

Please visit the website https://www.tyndale.ca/mfa for instructions on how to enroll your student account into MFA.

I've changed phones and can no longer access my MyTyndale account? What do I do?

To reset your MFA Authentication methods, please visit https://mfareset.tyndale.ca and complete a few basic security questions regarding your MyTyndale account. Once successful, you can then login to your account and re-register for MFA using the instructions found at https://www.tyndale.ca/mfa. If you are unable to reset your authentication methods, please contact Tyndale IT at 416-226-6620 x4361 or email studentithelp@tyndale.ca for assistance.

If you have any further questions, feel free to engage with our AI Digital Assistant Jean at https://jean.tyndale.ca or get in touch with us directly,

thank you!
